The inspiration for this piece happened almost accidentally as I initially wanted to solely focus on how divinity has been depicted historically in Art. When beginning my own rough ideas for the piece I naturally began to create studies of black babies as representatives of cherubs. From there, I noticed the stark difference in my work compared to the likes of François Boucher and Rapheal.
